i have recently been struck by the incredible irony found in a fairly common activity.

none of us probably find rest, true rest anyway, as much as we would like. and when we do we may be prone to walking right past it, on to another project, phone call, or anything of the like. i mean, it's so hard to actually let your body settle down. clear your mind. breathe deep fresh air.

not trying to be all zen-like on you guys. but it just occurred to me. what if we made a point to take time and rest during the current season. what if we were found resting during a time of marked change? autumn is most notably recognized because of the fast paced change of nature all around us. and how beautiful are the trees, the colors, that particular shade of light that carries reds and oranges with it? and what if we allowed ourselves to get caught up. caught up in the middle of that. suspended between beauty. and rested.
